Un viaggio in Inghilterra del Sud non può che cominciare da Londra!

L’avventura parte dalla London Eye: Uber Boat dal Walterloo Pier, una passeggiata fino al Tower Bridge e di corsa alla Tate Modern, ormai tappa del cuore.

Qui (ingresso gratuito come in tutti i musei di Londra) l’attenzione ai più piccoli è massima. Un’intera area del piano terra si trasforma in Tate Play per ospitare “Monster Chetwynd: Thunder, Crackle and Magic”, performance tra draghetti che danzano e fili rotanti piena di interattività per i piccoli. In vari punti della galleria c’è la Tate Draw, tavolette digitali dove i bambini possono disegnare (e il disegno diventa una t-shirt!).

Al quarto piano… sorpresa! Una bellissima Quiet Room per neurodivergenti o per chiunque ne abbia bisogno.

E poi le grandi icone: Maman, il ragno monumentale di Louis Bourgeois o “Babel” di Cildo Meireles, Torre di Babele contemporanea fatta di decine di radio che parlano lingue diverse.

…e ancora, Londra è il Big Ben, le red telephone boxes, i double-decker bus, St James Park, i primi scoiattoli che corrono.

A trip to the South of England can only begin in London!

The adventure starts with the London Eye: an Uber Boat by Thames Clippers ride from Waterloo Pier, a walk to Tower Bridge and then straight to the Tate Modern — now a place close to our hearts.

Here (free entry, like all London museums), the focus on children is outstanding. An entire ground-floor area becomes Tate Play, hosting “Monster Chetwynd: Thunder, Crackle and Magic”, a performance full of interactivity with dancing little dragons and swirling threads. Throughout the gallery, you’ll find Tate Draw — digital tablets where kids can create drawings (and even turn them into a t-shirt!).

On the fourth floor… a wonderful surprise: a beautiful Quiet Room designed for neurodivergent visitors or anyone who might need a calm space.

And then the great icons: Maman, the monumental spider by Louise Bourgeois, or “Babel” by Cildo Meireles — a contemporary Tower of Babel made of dozens of radios speaking different languages.

…because London is also Big Ben, red telephone boxes, double-decker buses, St James’s Park, and the first squirrels running around.
